p1: i could force goblins, or just take the splashable card advantage. ca ftw. other than wort and tar pitcher, nothing i'm passing is super strong.
p2: plover knights is awesome, but white isn't so much. staying on color.
p3: i'm not sure if i was actually wrong or not here. tarfire is removal and splashable, but if i want merfolk i should cut with the divers.
p4: pilferers are really nice and splashable. considered the meadow for a second, but no. it's also way too early to take nap and maybe i can get into ub merfolk faeries...
p5: ...however at this point i'm noticing a distinct lack of faeries. i considered the mystic and whelm, and maybe whelm is right, but a 5/5 with friends isn't too shabby.
p6: i considered ponder, but thought it maybe a little to early to take one. definitely a mistake.
p7: so wings, peppersmoke, and oak. oak is a very solid card so i decided to cut it. wings seems correct here.
p8: between marsh and stalacite. maybe marsh would've been better with my pilferers.
p9: i notice that deeptread is gone but oaf tabled. maybe picking up giants here.
p10: i think wispmare, ire, or lairwatch would've been better at this point.
p12: meadow tabled!
p13: i think wispmare is a better pick here.
p16: more ca plz. kthxbai. considered weed strangle, but i think that black is definitely out of the question.
p17: i hate to pass a revels, aquitechts, and angler, but command is powerful and worth something.
p18: douser = good. i considered aethersnipe for a second but decided that ur elementals probably wouldn't pan out.
p19: sower is powerful and worth something. booyah.
p23: shoulda been neck snap. ub wasn't coming and i'm definitely snapping up judges if they come.
p24: i went with whiskergill right away but i should've given divers more thought. i'm happy with my pick though.
p25: wispmare is probably the pick here, but i'd rather not face kithkin with wizened cenn.
p26: wasn't sure my islandwalk would be enough so passed the net.
p27: JUUUUDGE! late harbinger is a little odd (would've liked both merfolk, though).
p31: i really considered hub, inversion, and extract here, but thought my deck needed a tapper more.
p32: i can has three cards from pack? i already had a douser and judge, so i considered the harbinger, but douser is so good.
p33: omg
p34: considered ponder, but i'd rather have will if i got one of my aquitects.
p35: considered divers, but merfolk really need to survive the early game.
p36: really considered sentinels, but extract is correct.

i was very happy with this deck. i was really fortunate to pick up the dousers late. compare this with draft 22.

round 1: played against a bgr deck and took it in two. game one avoided a blowout by commanding after ambush resolved and bounced his battlewand. sowered it when he recast and he untapped and conceeded. game two i got a land light start of two islands but had angler, double douser, and changeling to hold him off. turn 10 judge gained me a ton of life, and it was really academic except for my win condition which appeared in whiskergill and mulldrifter. turn 14 i command to bounce a troublesome scarblade with ruse mana up. counter it and he makes a desperation attack. i double block his huntmaster and negate his fistful with douser. and get the concession with 39 life and 5 cards in hand to his 18 life and 2 cards in hand.

round 2: game 1 i go t2 judge, t3 healer, he inversions healer for whatever reason. t4 rascal winning with extract. lay extract and make a dumb attack of both into his ghostly changeling. he blocks judge, lets damage assign then inversions my rascal. he goes to pump and i extract. i angler after combat. turn 6 mulldrifter. he evokes whelk and i discard two lands. mulldrifter next turn. his turn 7 he casts hostility at 12 life and 2 cards. i'm on 23 life, with a board of angler, two mulldrifters and a hand of will, douser, and plains. draw nothing but plains while he adds caterwauling boggart to the board. have him down to 4 and he fodder launches a drifter creating 5 3/1 elementals. i draw command and sigh in relief. attack him to 2, lay douser, and tap all his creatures before combat. at this point he has 2 cards and can get me if he has a creature and removal. thankfully, i get concession. game two he has a fast start with big adder staff and flamekin spitfire. i get down angler and healer. i do ok and am tapping his hostility with angler until i finally take it with sower. he lays ashling the pilgrim and brings him up two counters. another island and i could've rused it :(. i have no outs and he pops ashling for 5, giving him back the hostility. i get down douser and whiskergill and have him in two (he's at 6), but he spiderwigs hostility to take me to 1. fyi, another island and i could've rused it :frowntown:. he lays a creature so i can't attack. his final card is caterwauling boggart which i can finally ruse! but i wouldn't have enough blockers. the game ends with a whimper. game three i start out ok with an aquitects, healer, rascal, and hold a douser in case of removal, which seemed kinda dumb. i eventually lay it and he tarfires so i pump it with aquitects and prevent with healer. *shrug* his turn 7 he lays caterwauling boggart which makes his entire team of ingot chewer, ghostly changeling, sprite chaser difficult to block. i mulldrifter into command and angler. his turn 8 he casts hostility and holds it back even though i can only douse for -4. i get out double judge and threaten to go insane. he taps out to cast fault grinder and i turn a plains into an island via aquitects and counter and draw with command getting sower. i lay a land and tap out for benthicore; he draws and conceeds.

round3: game one i get no plains while he gets nut draw. i cast extract t3, he casts winnower, and i follow with turtleshell. i go aquitects then he goes loggers. i consider killing loggers, but decide to attack with all. he peppersmokes my turtleshell so i switch it back. i didn't realize him saccing loggers would kill it. he drops another loggers and kills the turtleshell. i sower winnower and he casts dreamspoilers and endings my sower. i ruse to stop his pestermite, but he spellstutters it. my hand is 2 judge and a healers. i'm at 7 life and lose clash on rascal to an o-ring vs my douser. t10 and no plains; time to pack it up. game two i lead off with douser and judge while he can't find an island and is stuck on 1 swamp, 1 plains. i go t4 whiskergill and get an aquitects next turn. he evokes a mulldrifter and i keep working him. he o-rings my whiskergill on turn 6 while on 7 life. and i swing in for 5 while patiently waiting to cast my sower. i think he tells me he'd have had my board cleared during sbing. game three we both mulligan and i keep a hand of island, plains, broken ambitions, douser, mulldrifter, sower. i draw an island for t3 aquitects. i then sower his loggers to keep the beat train rolling. i take out his next loggers by keeping mine via douser. he complains about mana but has been making all his land drops. i drop drifter and he drops divers. he o-rings and i broken ambitions it for the concession. he tells me he has a spellstutter and that 'no counters and again, i had your board cleared'.
